Better to set the input to game console and use Game HDR (which also minimizes lag). It's a known issue that's been discussed in the avs forums. There is lots of color banding that shouldn't be there. You can see this if you start steam in big picture and look at the gradients in the background.

On my LG OLED I have to switch to 422 first and apply it otherwise the higher color options won't show up.Īlso, if you are using an LG TV, don't use PC mode with HDR because the color mapping is bugged. Then, if your TV supports it, you should see options for 10-bit and maybe 12-bit show up. Try setting to 422 or 420 *first* and applying it. Only options avalable are 8 bit and YCBR444. Do you have ycbcr 422 10 bit limited selected in nvidia control panel? Its the only way windows will turn on hdr Hopefully they figure out something about this. Then it automaticlly enables windoww HDR which then in turn turns on my tvs HDR mode. Ive only ever gotten HDR to work if the game does the signal. Tried 1080 - 4K at 30 and 60 herts and just cant get windows to enable HDR mode. I nvida choosing the color options and everything to.

I had it under the game profile but I also tried this on Expert 1 ( Which has full settings avalable to it) and I still cant get HDR to work for this demo. But I think I miss read some comments about PC mode versus Game mode. WHich is why they came out with an HDR Game mode. Yea, HDR input lag was big deal for the OLEDS. But if I turn on HDR in the windows desktop, the game just starts in HDR mode and it works fine.Īs for input lag, that's specific to your TV.
